Joseph M. Greene

I invested twenty three rewarding years in AT&T/Lucent Technologies and retired in July of 2001 as the demand for telecommunication and information technology services dramatically declined.  I am currently in pursuit of a second career where I can utilize the skills I have honed in leading teams in delivering and implementing solutions to business problems.

Some of the skills I bring to the table are:

· Out-of-the-box thinking
· Experience in building consensus among disparate groups
· Problem Solving/Trouble Shooting
· Negotiation skills
· Developing Associates skills
· Experience with OEM’s and vendor relations
· Expertise in deriving the most benefit from technologies available

A few quotes from previous managers and associates:

"Through the years, Joe has always maintained the highest of business standards.  I  marvel at his work ethic and his ability to get things done, no matter the obstacles.  Even though he is extremely technical in focus, he nonetheless can weed through the technology and deliver what the client needs, even when the client doesn’t quite know what that might be.  He is an extremely hard working individual, willing to go above and beyond what is expected of him.  He is competent, intelligent, diligent, and client focused.  He is also a very effective manager, getting the most out of his teams."

"I had the pleasure of working closely with Joe Greene at Lucent Technologies from February 2000 until August 2001.  We were both Senior Managers on a large, complex project with well over 100 mostly technical staff.  While we were both leading groups to develop and refine the products and services in our portfolio,  I was brand new to managing and Joe was clearly well established.  Joe clearly did far more than his share of the work, but what most impressed me was his ability to bring out the best in those around him.  No one was a better team player than Joe.  He continually strived to empower the people who worked for him, removing any intervening roadblocks, and encouraging them to take on more responsibility.  I learned much of what I know about good management and dedication to personal responsibility from Joe.  He also had a deep understanding of our computing environment, and was quick to learn any new networking and office software. He is the type of manager that anyone would be happy to work with."

"Joe is also a skilled negotiator, and quickly identifies the win/win for both parties in any situation.  It’s this ability that allowed him to get the teams to realign their efforts to the problem at hand when progress stalled.  He is frequently the catalyst in gaining consensus on problem resolution and direction."
