As a result of my courses in the field of education and also simply repetition, I have become more proficient and flexible in creating my lesson plans. Learning new techniques such as SWABT(student will be able to) have refined my development of lesson plans to be much more accurate and efficient. The location of my planning has also evolved but this is primarily due to repetition rather than change in technique. I find myself thinking through my lesson plans while walking or dealing with a menial task. Using this time has enabled me to cut down on my planning time in front of the computer and also allowed me to be more creative because more thought has been put into each plan.
My plans have become much more flexible because I have begun to write the concepts and ideas that I want to touch on instead of having a complete written dialogue. This not only makes the planning more effective but also makes the classroom environment genuine and unrehearsed.
My forms of assessment have also become more diverse using simple observation, drawings, and discussion to evaluate a student's knowledge and progress. This allows for a more accurate assessment because every student conveys his or her knowledge in different contexts with varying degrees of success.
