Goal
Statement:

This
is my growth development portfolio which will cover where I started
in my ideas concerning teaching and where they are today. The purpose
of portfolio is to track my development as a lifelong learner. I will
be able to look back and see how my observations and interactions
with students and faculty have enriched my educational background.
This portion of the portfolio will contain about pieces of evidence
covering the goals listed on the following page. The evidence
consists of artifacts, reproductions, and experiences. Each piece of
evidence will have its significance explained, why I chose it, and
what it shows about me.Since my childhood, I, like other children,
was exposed to a variety of teaching styles. I never really thought
much about how or why teachers took the approach that they did. It
was not until my observation and exposure to theory in my education
courses that I really began to take notice as to what the teachers
were doing and the effects it has on the students.
It is my
belief that all children are capable of learning if given the
appropriate environment and motivation. Although every student
possesses the capacity to learn, different learning strategies are
employed by the students with varying degrees of success.
Consequently, an assortment of teaching styles must be implemented in
order to actively engage all students.
