My management techniques have evolved over the current semester as a result of first hand experience with sole control of the classroom. I simply needed to establish my position in the classroom and then the children knew what to expect. I found proximity techniques to be the most effective in controlling behavior because they were the least disruptive to the rest of the class and also usually altered the behavior.
